Fifth Annual Tara Bean Valentine’s Gala to be Held at Mechanics Hall February 10th
Proceeds support pediatric brain tumor treatment and research
Shrewsbury, MA -- The Tara Bean Foundation will host its fifth annual “Tara Bean Valentine’s Gala” at Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA, on Saturday, February 10, 2007. Proceeds will benefit the Tara Bean Foundation which supports pediatric brain tumor treatment and research at UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center in Worcester, MA, and Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA. To date, efforts have raised nearly $500,000 in proceeds.
The popular local event will take place from 6 pm until midnight and will include extensive silent and live auctions, a gourmet dinner prepared by Struck Catering of Worcester, and live entertainment by the band Eye 2 Eye of Boston. Tickets are $125 per person and may be purchased by calling Karen Bean at 508-845-1150.

Zito and Jen of the 104.5 FM WXLO Morning Show will emcee the evening. For the third consecutive year, Joseph’s Jewelers of Leominster, MA will donate a piece of “Hearts on Fire”® diamond jewelry-- a diamond pendant valued at over $2,300.
Ms. Margery Piercey, who was chosen to sing the national anthem at a Red Sox® game at Fenway Park last fall, will sing this year’s Gala theme song, “I Hope You Dance”. Dr. Stephen Bean of UMass Memorial Medical Center, Tara’s Uncle, will accompany Ms. Piercey on piano along with premiere dancers from the Charlotte Klein Dance Company of Worcester and Westborough, MA.

The Tara Bean Foundation is a Massachusetts non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization whose mission is to secure funds for pediatric brain tumor treatment and research. The Foundation was established in 2005 in memory of Tara Bean, a fourth grader from Shrewsbury, MA, who passed away from a brain tumor in 2000. Donations are welcome.
